It is really hard to break into the Nigerian entertainment scene, but
 some families have the record of not one, but at least two siblings in 
spotlight, with them all relatively making impact. DOYIN ADEOYE profiles
 prominent Nigerian celebrity siblings.
Gabriel, Kunle, Aremu Afolayan
 Sons of the 
foremost filmmaker of the 70s and 80s, Adeyemi Afolayan, better known as
 Ade Love; Kunle, Aremu and Gabriel Afolayan are no obscure names in the
 Nigerian entertainment industry, especially Kunle, who, just like his 
father, is one of the most prominent filmmakers in the movie industry 
today.
Raising
 the bar from where his father left it, Kunle Afolayan is seen by many 
as a filmmaker with style and class, with many of his works being 
showcased even beyond the shores of Africa. Gabriel on the other hand, 
apart from being a renowned actor, has produced hit singles that got 
many fans thrilled, one of which is the love song, ‘Kokoro Ife.’
Aremu is another actor with skills and with so much resemblance with Kunle, whose interpretation of roles is superb.
MI, Jesse Jagz
 Talk about rap music, then these 
two have abundant talents that the Nigerian music industry cannot 
contain. Popularly known as MI, Jude Abaga is a hip hop recording 
artiste that has won several awards, especially beyond the shores of 
Nigeria. His single, ‘Crowd Mentality’ which was released in 2006 was a 
statement, announcing the arrival of a rap king, while his debut album, 
‘Talk about It,’ released in 2008, showcased him as a competition for 
others in the field. He is a music executive at Chocolate City.
Jesse Garba Abaga, popularly known as Jesse Jagz, is also a top 
rapper and producer. Initially with the Chocolate City Label along with 
his brother, Jesse left the label in 2013 and has since started his own 
imprint known as Jagz Nation.
He released his debut album, “Jag of all Tradez’ in 2010 and that was
 well received. These siblings are surely, changers of the Nigerian 
music industry, especially the rap genre.
Sola, Abidemi Kosoko
 Sisters, Sola and Abidemi 
Kosoko, are daughters of the popular actor, Jide Kosoko. Sola 
Kosoko-Abinna is in every way her father’s daughter, not just because 
she is his split image, but because she is a skilled in the trade of 
acting.
Sola’s foray into the acting started as far back as the 1980s and one
 of these experiences was a feature in a celluloid film, Omo Orukan, 
which was shown at the National Theatre, Iganmu Lagos between 1986 and 
1987.
Probably influenced by their father’s love for theatre, Bidemi also 
developed the passion for acting at a young age. At age five, she played
 the role of a young ghostly girl in the movie,  Adun Ale.
Both sisters are award- winning actresses.
D’Prince, Don Jazzy
 It comes as no surprise that
 the duo, Don Jazzy and D’Prince, are two household names in the 
Nigerian music industry, as they are born to a music-oriented father, 
Collins Ajere, who was once the president of the Artiste Manager 
Association in Nigeria.
Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, is a successful 
music recording producer. The award-winning songwriter, musician and 
entrepreneur, is the former CEO of Mo’Hits Records, which churned out 
hit- songs from A-list artistes under the label, before they split.
Having launched Mavin Records in May 2012, Don Jazzy remains one of 
the most sought-after producers in the industry. He has produced tracks 
for the likes of Dr Sid, Wande Coal, Darey Art Alade, Naeto C, 
Ikechukwu, Tiwa Savage, among others. He was recently rated by Forbes as
 the 36th ‘Most Powerful Celebrity in Africa.’
Younger brother, Charles Enebeli, better known as D’Prince, on the 
other hand, is an artiste that has carved a niche for himself as one 
that really understands what music is all about.
D’banj, Kayswitch
 Born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, 
D’banj as he is popularly called is a singer, songwriter, and a 
businessman. His archive of awards is beyond mentioning, as he was 
recently named as the Best-selling African Artiste at the 2014 World 
Music Awards.
Using a fusion of Afrobeat and Afropop, the Koko Master’s debut 
album, No Long Thing, which was released in 2005, was well received. The
 lead single, Tongolo, proved to be his breakthrough single and a hit. 
He is Nigeria’s first United Nations Youth Ambassador for Peace, and he 
owns the Koko Foundation for Youth and Peace Development.
Younger brother, Kayswitch, is the first signing of D’Banj’s DB Records and is also artiste well known home and abroad.
Peter, Paul, Jude Okoye
 From the onset, the trio
 of Peter, Paul and Jude Okoye have been a team. Identical twin 
brothers, Peter and Paul make the group,  Psquare and since they 
debuted, they have had   an ever growing fan base within and beyond 
Africa.
With numerous hit tracks to their credit, the duo have performed with
 many international artistes such as Ginuwine, Sean Paul, Akon, among 
others. Recent on the list is America artiste, T.I, who was featured in 
their single track, Eje Ajo, which was released on August 29, 2014.
With Peter and Paul doing the singing and dancing, Jude became the 
front line manager of the group and subsequently, leading them to 
success.
Femi, Tope, Sodiq Adebayo
 The trio of Femi, Tope
 and Sodiq Adebayo, are sons of veteran actor, Adebayo Salami, popularly
 known as Oga Bello. Starting off his acting career at a young age, Femi
 Adebayo is an actor whose face has become a regular one in home videos.
 Versatile and skillful, the graduate of Law is also a producer.
Sodiq on the other hand is a production manager that is good at what 
he does, having managed many of the top movies in the industry. Tope is a
 director and besides these three, the Adebayo family can be described 
as an enterprise, with some of the other siblings in different other 
fields across the industry.
